Seniors dance at the Homecoming Pep Rally and Bonfire

For Glenbard West, Homecoming is a treasured tradition. This year, Homecoming week took place from September 28th to October 3rd, based on the theme Arabian Night.

The actual dance was on October 3rd from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. Setup for the Homecoming had been arranged as the the week went by.

On Monday, students were handed out packets for the big event regarding theHomecoming parade and the week building up to the dance, known as spirit week. Spirit week for the school was arranged to also show pride to the school.

The themes were: Monday, pajama day; Tuesday, America Day; Wednesday, Woodstock Wednesday; Thursday, throwback Thursday; and Friday, School spirit day. On Friday the West Woodchucks put together a bonfire to take place at the night time pep rally.

From Tuesday to Friday, students set up the school for the dance, such as the Homecoming sign being placed on the wall at the front entrance. On Wednesday, students decorated the hallway, which is also a competition for which hallway was the most well decorated. The winning club decorations were announced on Friday.

Throughout the week, tickets were on sale and being sold at the front entrance of the school as well as in the lunch room, with tickets for people who are going alone $15, or for people who are going together or for people who are couples, tickets cost $25.

Overall, students enjoyed the dance. It is a wonderful time to get excited about the beginning of a new school year and spend time with friends both new and old.
