Girls Field Hockey Wraps Up a Successful Season!
As our fall sports at West come to an end, and our winter sports swing into motion, we must take a moment to appreciate and reflect on the success of our Field Hockey team. Predominantly an East Coast sport, field hockey is fairly new to the scene at Glenbard West, but that does not stop us from having success. This past season the Hilltoppers finished their season with a fantastic record of 13-7-1 in the regular season, and continued their momentum through playoffs making it all the way to the final four. Junior Gabby Knapp attributes the Hilltoppers success to “The team’s ability to form a strong and tight bond so quickly.” Just as the old adage says “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link” a mantra that is seen in many successful teams. “The factor that played the largest role in the team’s performance this year has to be our team’s ability to adapt to each other’s play style and utilize each other’s strengths to our advantage,” says Junior Center Forward, Anna Morgan. The accolades for the team run even deeper: Having two players who were selected to be All State and All Conference in Kennedy Brandt and Anna Morgan, along with Sydney Nimsakont who is also an All Conference player. Be sure to get out and support our Hilltoppers field hockey team next season as they look to make another run at the state title.
