Joining the school’s security team this year is Mr. Ibarra. Originally from the Mexican city of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mr. Ibarra has always been a hard worker, and values the outcomes that hard work gets you. Starting off work at a young age to eventually moving here and becoming security at restaurants, Mr. Ibarra has since joined West as a member of the security team, which he applauds for its positive environment, calling it the “best job he’s ever had.”
As a member of security, Mr. Ibarra’s main role is obviously to keep campus safe. Being part of the school’s first line of defense, his main concern is always the students’ well-being more than anything. If you have any questions, requests, or concerns for him, you can usually find Mr. Ibarra patrolling the second floor or the cafeteria.
Mr. Ibarra’s work is guided by his favorite quote: lo que se siembra es lo que va cosechar (translated from Spanish: what ever seeds you plant is what you will grow.)
Using this quote, he expresses his belief- work hard, be good to others, help others, and it will all pay off. Beyond his personal motto, he also wants students to know that no matter what the situation may be, the security team will be here to help.
When questioned about what he would like to let students know through this article, Mr. Ibarra said he wants to remind everyone to take advantage of the opportunities we are given here at West, and to work hard, study hard, and treat others the way you want to be treated, as those are the keys to success. He closed off his interview with a simple but meaningful quote; “I want to see everyone be successful and happy in the future.”
