Top Places To Eat In Downtown Glen Ellyn

Glen Ellyn’s downtown center has a variety of shops and spots for all. Boutiques, shops, and specialty stores, Glen Ellyn has it all! However, probably the most prominent type of business downtown is restaurants. From Thai to Italian and from quick bites to sit-downs, Glen Ellyn has a diverse scheme of cuisines. A selected few of Glenbard’s student and faculty were asked, “What is your favorite place to eat downtown Glen Ellyn?”

First, Mrs. Monahan, Family and Consumer Science teacher, was asked about her favorite place to eat downtown. Also, she is now the 2021 Class Adviser! Go head over to her office or email her if you have any questions, freshmen.

QUESTION: So, Mrs. Monahan, what’s your favorite place to eat downtown, Glen Ellyn?
MRS. MONAHAN: Let me think, Fire and Wine, there are so many choices, but I’d have to say Fire and Wine.
QUESTION: What would you recommend to readers?
MRS. MONAHAN: I would recommend the Verata. It’s so good. It’s like an appetizer thing, so delicious. I also recommend the black pepper shrimp.
QUESTION: What would you give this restaurant on a scale from 1-10?
MRS. MONAHAN: 9.5 – It’s delicious.

Next, two freshmen, new to West this year, were asked. First, freshman Oscar Espejel:
QUESTION: So, what’s your favorite place to eat downtown Glen Ellyn?
OSCAR: Probably, Dunkin’ Donuts because it’s where I usually go with my friends and I like to be there.
QUESTION: What would you recommend to readers?
OSCAR: The double chocolate donut.
QUESTION: What would you give this place out of 1-10?
OSCAR: 7.5.

And finally, freshman, Katie Kooy was asked about her favorite Glen Ellyn cuisine:
QUESTION: So, Katie, what’s your favorite place to eat downtown Glen Ellyn?
KATIE: Downtown Glen Ellyn, I like to eat at Euro Crepes because I love crepes and they have a ton of variety there.
QUESTION: What would you recommend to readers (what’s your favorite crepe(s))?
KATIE: I recommend the Suzette Crepe: it’s Nutella and Chocolate: DELICIOUS! And also, a savory crepe, I recommend a tomato and avocado crepe. It’s really good.
QUESTION: What would you give this place out of a scale of 10?
KATIE: Probably an 8.
