With Thanksgiving right around the corner and autumn coming to a close, a great way to celebrate this time of the year is by participating in GBW Student Council’s Annual Turkey Trot!

The Turkey Trot will be held right after school on November 15th. Head to Duchon Field to receive your T-shirt and get ready for the race!

Make sure to bring either a canned food item or one dollar which will be donated to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The Trot is one mile long around Lake Ellyn and the GBW track.

When students arrive, they will predict the time which they think they will complete the course. Whoever runs a time closest to their estimation will receive a ButterBall Turkey, perfect timing for next Thursday!

Free pizza will be provided for all participants, along with raffle prizes for everyone involved. According to Student Council VP, Max Dikker, Dr. Monaghan remembers the Turkey Trot being a fond tradition ever since he started at Glenbard West.

Come out with your friends, clubs, teams, and teachers to celebrate Turkey Day at the Turkey Trot. An added bonus… see your Student Council President Alex Frazer dressed as a turkey!
