Congratulations to Mrs. Smith on her retirement!
After working for 9 years as the assistant librarian at Glenbard West, Mrs. Smith will be retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Smith worked with the student body, teachers, and staff at large and impacted the entirety of the West community.
Throughout her time here at Glenbard West, Mrs. Smith greatly enjoyed the school’s spirit, sharing how she “feel[s] truly blessed to have been a part of [the] wonderful Hilltopper community”. She emphasizes her gratitude to work at Glenbard West, describing it as a truly “special place”.
Mrs. Smith’s favorite times at Glenbard West have been spent “assisting students with their reading journey and connecting them to favorite genres and books”. She particularly enjoyed her involvement in “the collaboration of GBW students and Castle preschoolers for literacy activity mornings of fun”.
While working here, Mrs. Smith has acted as a guide for Hilltoppers’ literary interests and passions, touching many students and impacting their lives. Mrs. Smith notes that she will miss “the tapestry of interactions with students and staff”, describing them as “treasured memories”.
