Exec Board Election Results

Throughout April 17 and 18, 482 freshman, sophomores, and juniors elected a new Student Council Executive Board for the 2024-2025 school year.

Voters selected junior Sophia Savarese for President, junior Lindsay Seifert as Vice President, junior Eishaal Sodager, junior Ayushi Patel and sophomore Jack Farrell as Special Events Coordinator, and sophomores Audrey Doyle and Molly Gibson for publicity.

Nobody ran for Corresponding and Recording Secretary. To keep the number of Exec Board members at 11 students, the student council advisor, Mrs. McGann, took on a third special events coordinator.

The Student Council President is the face of Glenbard West and oversees the executive board, conducts meetings, and gives morning announcements, among other things. Ms. Savarese beat out juniors Kendal Cullen, Amy Tran, and Chris Tran(Amy and Chris are unrelated) for the position.

The Vice President is in charge of coordination and communication between the different committees, helps the president, and is in charge of the executive board in their absence. Ms. Seifert went against fellow juniors Lauren Russell and Marisa Mehta.

Special Events Coordinators run school events like Homecoming, Spirit Week, donut breakfasts, and other activities as well as chairing the Special Events Committee and working with the Boosters. Ms. Sodager, Ms. Patel, and Mr. Farrell ran against sophomores Ella Demchinski, Mackenzie Gilbert, Sama Khan, Ilijana Marjanovic, Claire Nielsen, and Lillian Svach who also ran for special events coordinator.

Ms. Doyle and Ms. Gibson will chair the Publicity Committee and work to promote students council’s special events. Junior Ellie Frank, sophomore Sophia Rizko, and sophomore Jane Sweinsberger also ran for the publicity positions.
