Congratulations to Mrs. Christine ‘Chris’ Gladish on her retirement! Mrs. Gladish has been an integral part of the Glenbard West community for 15 years. Starting her journey as an ISBP assistant, Mrs. Gladish worked her way up to become the school’s Administrative Assistant to School Counseling.

Her job entails “helping students that come to [their] department with a multitude of questions.” Mrs. Gladish shares that “it is a hub of activity” and that “each day is different which makes it fun.”

She attended West and graduated in 1980, so the “Pride and Tradition” motto of the school has made a profound impact on her.  That being said, a few memories  have caught her attention: “The first day of school is crazy busy and the energy in the building is like graduation day.” Additionally, “the setting by the lake is like no other.” Another one of her favorite memories is meeting Sean Hayes, a renowned actor, comedian, and musician who is also a Glenbard West alumni that revisited the school in 2020.

The thing Mrs. Gladish will miss the most about West is the staff, although, “the walk up the hill on a sunny morning is hard to beat.”

As a last word for the students, Mrs. Gladish advises the students to “get involved! There are so many clubs, activities and sports to participate in, find something you enjoy and join. Take a moment occasionally to stop and take in the surroundings of our beautiful campus, to our friends and staff.”
